10 signs that your classic muscle car is rusting; this is one of those articles that could encompass a lot of different ideas. I will stick to the things that I have seen over the years restoring classic cars. I hope you don’t mind if I ramble on a bit I always get back to the theme of the article.Over the years I have dealt with rust in a lot of different forms, and I may present this articles in a way that is a bit different but by the time you read it you will know if your car is beginning to rust, or if it has full blown body cancer.First I will forge on with a numbered list of the 10 signs that your classic muscle car is rusting.1. Paint bubbling this is always a tell tail sign that rust has started in your car2. Paint flaking is another definite sign of rust, these two are the obvious ones3. Rock chips are turning black or brown4. The edges of doors, hoods, or trunk lid are starting to crack5. Small pin holes in the body of your car (any body panel)6. Any area that feels weak to the touch has rusted from the inside (Body Cancer)7. Paint changing colors, and you can’t fix it, this is a sign of the beginning of body cancer8. Bigger holes in the floor board, rocker panels, or trunk floor (Body Cancer)9. Fender wells are a common spot to get Body Cancer, they will develop holes10. The fire wall in your engine compartment is a common place to rust, it will usually come from between the areas where they join two pieces of metal together. The one thing that you need to remember about rust is that it is very hard to stop it from destroying your car once it has started the process. The biggest reason that rust starts in the first place is that people don’t wash their cars enough.Dirt; leafs and road grime will get in every crack and cranny of your car; these things hold moisture in and cause your car to rust. There are always things like rock chips in the paint, or bad body work that can cause rust also, so make sure that any work done on your car is done right. In every case with body cancer the affected area must be cut out and replaced there is no easier, or shorter way to do it. Surface rust can be fixed by grinding the affected area clean, and repainting it. I know it all sounds like a ton of work, that is because it is.Your best bet is to wash your car at least once per week if you drive it. In my next article I will talk more about rust prevention. This happens during the restoration of a car, you can make cars almost rust proof if you do it right, but that is in the next article.I hope the 10 signs that your classic muscle car is rusting has helped some of our readers, please let us know if your like it.
Do you own a localized business? Are you wondering if it’s possible to do local business article marketing to attract customers from your geographic region to your website? When I speak with local business owners on this topic, there is a common misconception that in order to attract local customers to a website that you need to have your articles published on websites that are based in your town or that exclusively have readers from your city.Actually, this is not true. Most local business owners are under the wrong impression that the way that article marketing builds traffic is that articles are published on websites where your target readers are already hanging out, and then you receive traffic directly from the articles published on those localized sites. That is the way that offline marketing works with television, radio and newspaper, but it is not the way article marketing works. The main benefit of article marketing is that it allows you to elevate your search engine ranking for the keyword terms associated with your site in Google, Yahoo, etc. You elevate your search engine ranking by building links to your website. You build links by submitting articles.Article marketing is the catalyst behind a link building campaign that will impact your website’s ranking in Google.Let’s say your local business is a car rental dealership located in the UK, and you only want website visitors who are in the UK.You do not need to seek out website publishers who run UK based websites.Instead you should write articles on the general topic of car rentals (“How To Pick The Best Car Rental Agency”, “The 5 Best Family Friendly Car Rentals”, “5 Benefits Of Using A Rental Car On Vacations”, etc). You will write on your general niche, rather than about your specific business in the article. Then, you submit your articles to websites that publish articles on your topic. So, in this instance, you would submit to publishers who accept articles about cars, travel, automotive, etc. You will find many article directories that have categories on these and other topics.Where does your specific geographic location come into play? How do you end up attracting customers from your localized area of the world? When you’re doing article submissions, you will also include a resource box. Each time your article is republished, so is your resource box. A resource box is a short author bio that includes your name, a little about your business, a reason to click through to your website, and a link to your website. If you are trying to attract local customers, this is also the spot where you will specify your location. For example, a resource box for a UK car rental agency might be:”XYZ Car Rentals has been serving the UK for the past 15 years. For top notch customer service and reasonable UK car leasing prices, go to [website URL]“You see, it is your resource box that will alert Google to your specific location. It does not matter where your article is published. It does not matter that readers from all over the world may be looking at the directories and websites where your articles are appearing. You will still attract targeted readers from your specific location because of your resource box.Google sees the resource box, notices the geographic location (for a local business, your geographic location will be a part of the keywords terms you target in your resource box), and Google associates that link in the resource box with the location specific keyword terms used in your resource box.As you market your site consistently with articles, your Google ranking will get higher and higher. The higher your ranking in Google, the more traffic you will receive. And this is *targeted* traffic, specific to your location and to your type of business. When will you start using local business article marketing as an extremely cost efficient and effective way to draw local customers to your website?
It seems as if whenever there is a major car show anywhere in the world, there are always great pictorials and articles about the new car models which are coming out. People love to read this kind of content online. In fact it is quite popular, and often ranks up there with whatever the famous Hollywood movie stars are doing that week, people are interested in that. Okay so, let’s talk about this for second shall we?If you want to create stellar content having to do with a new car model, then there are certain things that must be in your article, they are things that people are looking for, and I’m not just talking about commenting on the fact that there was a really nice drink holder in the center console of the new hybrid sports car. Yes that’s important, anyone who has gone from 0 to 60 in a high-performance corvette realizes that they don’t want their Frappachino all over the car, and they want a drink holder which holds their latte snugly. So yes, by all means you need to mention that, but people are also interested in other things, such as horsepower, performance, handling, speed, acceleration, and of course more and more they’re interested in fuel economy. You must have all of those items in every article you write about, especially any new car model piece. Further, you are going to have to spend a little extra time with your phraseology, and the description. You need to use lots of adjectives to adequately describe what it feels like to sit in the car, listen to the motor, and drive it around. People want to know.Dealing with the facts and the data is one thing. But you have to remember people are buying cars because they are an extension of their personality. You need to describe the car as if you would your best friend and their personality. People want to know about the “feel” of the car. As long as you discussed all the features, and all the data points, and you put in a real personal connection with the automobile into your article you’ll be there. That’s how you write an informational article on new car models. If you post articles which are done this way on the Internet, you’ll notice they get lots of traffic, lots of interest, lots of high ratings, and you’ll notice incoming links, and isn’t that the goal of an online article writer? Indeed I hope you will think about this, and put some real pizzazz, without overhyping into each automotive article you write.
Car hire is one of the best ways to travel when on holiday, it grants freedom of travel and the option to only spend time doing the things you love. Selecting and finding car hire services however can be a difficult and time consuming process. The purpose of this article is to provide the reader with ten essential tips for utilising car hire services. The first tip is that if you are clever it is possible to find excellent discounts online. The majority of car hire companies have a website that has online booking provisions. The costs that are involved with online booking are far less than those for phone bookings, hence the savings are passed onto consumers. It is also possible to gain a discount if you are a member of a frequent flyer programme. Many airlines have agreements with car hire companies that give passengers special rental rates. When you have booked your hire car it is important to check through the rental contract at length. By doing this you are taking the time to recognise your own responsibilities as well as the obligations of the company. Also essential is at the time of booking to receive a confirmation number. This is essentially your proof of purchase and hence by taking note of this you have something to present at the car hire desk. Additionally, if you are picking up your hire car from the airport it is worth giving the company details of your flight so that if you are delayed your vehicle will not be given to someone else.A great tip is to study your own needs before making a booking. For example smaller cars in the range are likely to be perfect for couples and small families, larger cars however will be required when a large group is travelling with luggage. Most companies will provide you with a car that has a full tank of fuel, it is however worth checking on the documentation as fuel levies can work out expensive. Additionally it is always worth filling the car to level of fuel it had at the start of the rental period. Before driving away in the car it is essential to make a comprehensive check of the vehicle inside and out. Customers are liable for damage and hence by making a check and reporting any damage to the company representative any unexpected costs on the way back can be avoided. It may sound obvious but drinking and driving is a disastrous idea. Your insurance for the rental car will be voided and any damage to the car could result in an astronomical payment. It is always worth checking where and when the car must be returned. Most companies will charge as much as an entire day’s rental should the vehicle be returned late. Once again this will help to save you money. The final price of advice is to be organised and book as early as possible. It is rarely worth booking your car at the desk on the day as prices are higher, hence by having a long term strategy an enjoyable trip should be had that does not break the bank.
Whenever road accident data is reported in the media, or in the event of a particularly ‘newsworthy’ tragedy such as the terrible thirty-car accident on the M5 recently, the question of road safety is brought up.The automotive industry has made some spectacular technological advances over the last century, but one of the biggest and most important areas of development has been safety. But what makes a ‘safe’ car?The broad umbrella of ‘safety’ is usually divided into two categories: active safety and passive safety. Active safety is the car’s ability to avoid having an accident. Passive safety is the car’s ability to protect its occupants once it is actually having an accident. For example, anti-lock brakes are an active safety feature, while airbags are a passive safety feature. In this article, the first of a three-part series, we are going to look at passive safety. In the next article we will look at active safety, and in the final instalment we will look at what you can do with the car you are already driving to make it safer.Passive safetyMost people tend to associate ‘safety’ with ‘passive safety’ rather than avoiding the accident in the first place. This is not surprising, because most government regulations and high-profile programs like the EuroNCAP safety ratings concentrate heavily on how cars protect their occupants in an accident. Equipment like airbags and seatbelts are heavily regulated, and cars have to achieve certain levels of performance when crashed into barriers and poles at certain speeds. The improvements made in passive safety over the last thirty years are staggering. Spend some time watching videos of crash tests on YouTube or the EuroNCAP website and you will be shocked at the violence of a full-speed car crash. And for anyone who thinks that an airbag is a big soft pillow which reaches out of the steering wheel to lovingly embrace you in an impact, you will be unpleasantly surprised to see how explosively an airbag deploys. “Explosively” is an appropriate word, too, because your airbags and seatbelts use pyrotechnics (i.e. explosions) to yank your seatbelt tight and trigger the airbags around you in milliseconds once you commence having an accident. An airbag may save your life, but it may also give you a broken nose or cheekbones in the process. A seatbelt will hold you securely in place but could snap your collarbone as it does so.Modern seatbelts are a technological marvel compared to the original idea of a fixed-length belt which simply strapped you to the seat. A 21st century seatbelt will allow you flexibility to move around as you need to under normal driving circumstances, but in the event of an accident it will carefully yet very rapidly pull you back into the seat and let you out again if necessary to control how quickly you (and all your internal organs) slow down as the car itself breaks up around you. The seatbelt and airbags are designed to work very precisely together. Airbags deploy in specific directions, at specific speeds, and the seatbelt makes sure you are held in the right place to benefit from that. There’s no point having an airbag go off to absorb your impact if you miss it because you were thrown around the cabin instead. Airbags on American cars are designed to be much bigger and more powerful than on European cars, because fewer Americans wear seatbelts and the airbag has to try and stop an unrestrained occupant instead of a properly-belted one. Thankfully, seatbelt usage in American has improved significantly in recent years, although it still lags behind the rest of the civilised world. In fact, in New Hampshire there is still no law requiring seat belts to be worn!Modern cars are also designed to crumple in very specific ways, to absorb and divert as much impact energy as possible away from the cabin. The cabin itself is heavily reinforced so it does not crumple, which is why car pillars have become much thicker in recent years, while at the same time window lines have become much higher. If you look at a car from the 1960s or 1970s, you will see it has lovely thin pillars and lots of glass all around, which is great for visibility but won’t stop anything trying to come through into your cabin. The chunky, almost armoured look of many modern cars might not be as pretty, and it definitely impedes visibility, but it will protect you much better if you happen to be inside during an accident. Doors are heavily reinforced with smaller windows and higher windowlines, to protect you in a side impact. Fuel tanks have to be mounted in a certain way and constructed so that they don’t rupture and spill fuel everywhere in an accident to reduce the chance of fire. Headrests are carefully designed to protect your head and neck from whiplash in a rear impact. The steering column has to collapse in a certain why so it doesn’t impale the driver in a frontal impact. The engine will break away from its mountings and slide under the car, and virtually every component on the car is designed to break in a certain way to absorb impact energy and deflect it away from the cabin. This crumpling and energy absorption is why you still hear the old cliche that “new cars fall apart too easily” compared to older cars. That is absolutely false – older cars are far less safe in an accident precisely because they don’t crumple in a progressive and controlled manner. If that older car runs into a wall/tree/other car at 40 mph, it effectively stops instantly and all the energy is transferred to the occupants inside, so you keep moving at about 40 mph, usually into the dashboard or through the windscreen.Crash test standards are getting ever tougher. EuroNCAP most recently overhauled its rating system in 2009, making a 5-star result in the 2009 test significantly harder to achieve than for 2008 and earlier. When looking at a car’s crash-test results, it is important to check which test protocol was used. Ratings are given for the protection of both adult and child occupants, as well as pedestrians, in the new 2009 protocols. All of the above is merely a glimpse into the technology behind how your car behaves in a crash. In the next part of this series, we will look at how your car helps you avoid a crash in the first place, which is where a lot of development is currently taking place.
Insurance companies look differently at car insurance for teenagers. Most of the teenagers don’t have driving experience. A review of The Triumph Sports Car, focusing on the development, important features and technical data of each model in the Triumph TR range, from the TR2 to TR8.In this Article, I offer a nostalgic look at the Triumph TR sports car, one of an elite group of classic cars, which was manufactured during the period 1953 to 1981.Prior to the introduction of the Triumph sports car, the Standard Motor Company acquired the Triumph Motor Company in 1944, and production at this subsidiary was moved to Standard’s own factory near Coventry.Furthermore, in the early 1950′s, the decision was made to market saloon cars under the name of Standard, and to position the Triumph name into the sports car market. As a result, in 1952, the Triumph TR2 was born and became the forerunner of a range of TR’s produced continuously until 1981. The TR2 was designed specifically to counter the presence of MG in the US market. In 1955, the next classic car in the range was the TR3 which offered, as additional extras, both an occasional rear seat and a steel hard top. It was noticeable by its distinctive front grill. In 1957, the most obvious change to the TR3 was the addition of a full width radiator grill. Consequently, this model was unofficially renamed the TR3A. It also displayed exterior door and lockable boot handles. In 1961, the classic car range was enhanced with the introduction of the TR4. This utilised both the drive train and chassis that had been used on previous TR’s, but incorporated a re styled body by Michelotti.Further differences between it and the TR3 included rack and pinion steering, a bigger engine, a gearbox with synchromesh on gears one to four, plus wider front and rear track. In 1965, the TR4 was updated with independent rear suspension, to provide a smoother ride, as well as a new chassis. It was renamed the TR4A, and sported a distinctive “IRS” badge at the rear, and chrome indicators on the wings. In 1967, the new sports car in the illustrious line of TR’s was the TR5. It had the same body styling as the TR4 but, instead, was powered by a 2.5 litre PI engine, which was marketed as the first British production car with fuel injection. Wire wheels, overdrive, and a removable hard top with a cover (called a Surrey top) were offered as optional extras. It sported a distinctive “TR5″ badge on the bonnet.Over the same period of Aug 1967-Sept 1968, and alongside production of the TR5, was that of the TR250. Aimed at the North American market, there was very little difference between it and the TR5, apart from the two Stromberg carburettors used in place of the Lucas fuel injection. In 1969, the top selling sports car in the TR range was launched – it was the TR6. Apart from the front and back, the body styling was similar to the TR5. As in the TR5 and TR250, the TR6 had two engine versions, one for the non US (150bhp) and another for US (125bhp) markets. From about 1972 onwards, non US models were detuned from 150 to 125bhp. An optional overdrive was available on all gears except first. The penultimate TR was the TR7, launched in 1975. It displayed a distinctive “wedge” shape (regarded as futuristic). It used a similar design of 2 litre, 8 valve engine as in the Triumph Dolomite Sprint. There was a hard top and roadster version. Many fans of the Triumph TR regarded the TR7 as not being part of the classic TR range which they felt ended with the TR6.Finally, the TR8 ended the charismatic series of classic cars. It was aimed at the US market and was, in essence, a TR7 with a 3.5 litre V8 Rover engine. Early models had twin carburettors, which were later replaced with fuel injection. Both coupe and convertible models were available. This marked the end of the Triumph TRPerhaps this stroll down memory lane might have answered, or at least shed light on, a possible question:”Which TR Sports Car is Your Favourite?”Having owned a TR4, TR4A, TR5 and TR6, my answer to the above question is very clear… it is the TR6.However, should this question still remain unanswered, I will be reviewing, in some detail, in future articles within my website, the entire range of TR sports cars which were featured in the memorable era spanning 1952 to 1981.I hope you join me in my nostalgic travels “down sports car memory lane”.
When trying to avoid foreclosure, it comes down to one main thing; you need money to pay your bills on time. With today’s economy, low paying jobs and lack of available work every penny you earn counts. It counts towards, keeping or saving your home and giving your family a secure future. This is my third article on money saving tips to stop a foreclosure. The first article tells you how you can save several thousand dollars a year on grocery’s, article number two tells you how to save on clothing and this particular article will deal with saving money on car repairs. If you have a car it doesn’t matter if it’s a couple years or twenty years old — you going to spend money on keeping it in shape. There are some tips and tricks of the trade though that may help cut down on some of your mechanical expenses.Get A Second Opinion and Estimate
If you were going to a doctor and they told you, that you would need to get this, that and this done; you would probably get a second opinion, before you just jump onto an operating table. Treat your car the same way; get a second opinion.By getting a second look at your car by a different mechanic, you can confirm what the first mechanic told you and you can get a second estimate of costs. This is very important because most car mechanics prices can vary significantly. One person may quote you $1800 for a job, while a second mechanic may do for only $900. That is a big difference so it is very important to get a second opinion and estimate on your car’s repairs or maintenance.Watch Out For Scammers
How often have you gone into a car shop to get your oil changed and all of sudden you find yourself buying brake lights or a new spark plugs or a oil filter? It is always something, isn’t it? Make sure if someone is examining your car for one thing, they don’t try to up sell you something you may not need. This is another reason why a second look at your car with another mechanic is important. Especially if every time you visit your current mechanic for one thing, they prescribe ten things. See how many times this happens where you do business; if it starts becoming a pattern, it may be time to look for a new mechanic.Buy Your Own Car Parts
Some mechanics have been known to charge a 50% mark up on parts. This is good chunk of change and worth looking into alternative options for parts. Even if you don’t know how to do the labor on a car, you can bring the parts you find for a cheaper price to the garage and just pay for labor.Check out major auto parts stores since they will usually be cheaper then your mechanic’s garage. Or look in the classifieds if it is a major part because someone may be selling just what you need. Or possibly, check out a scrap yard and see what they have. This could just save you several thousand dollars.Learn To Do Some Of Your Own Repairs
There are some simple repairs you can do on your own car, which can end up saving you saving you more than 80% on labor prices. For instance, if your car light goes out, a dealer will charge your $20 just to change the bulb. If you buy your own bulb at an auto store it is probably around $2. Then just do a little online research or look at some auto repair books and learn how to replace the bulb yourself. So if you have any money concerns or are possibly worried about facing foreclosure in your future, read of the money saving tip articles and make every penny count. How would you like to have an extra $10,000 in your pocket every year? This can happen, if you put the time and effort into learning the tricks of the trade. If your boss offered you a pay increase of $10,000, but you would have to do more work, you would likely take it. This is same thing, put the work into saving money and you will have more money.
It seems like whenever you search any major auto show from any site, there are generally always wonderful pictorials along with articles regarding the new auto models that happen to be coming out and about on the internet. People wish to read these kinds of content online. In fact, these good articles can be quite commonly found, and generally rank way up there on the top sites and current news. Okay, let’s take a second to discuss this topic and improve how we can get an article to the top.If you need to create stellar content concerning a brand-new car style, then there are a number of things that need to be in your current articles. These are exactly the stuff people are trying to find, and I’m not simply talking in regards to commenting on the nice drink holder inside the center console in the new hybrid fancy car. Yes, that is certainly important. But the fact that the car can go from 0 to 60 in a couple seconds in a very high-performance car is certainly more desirable than the ability to place their Frappuccino anywhere in the car.So of course, by most means you’ll want to mention that, but besides that, everyone is also considering other issues. Things such as acceleration, rate, horsepower, functionality, and handling… but most importantly they’re considering fuel overall economy. You have to have all those key elements in the article you select, especially just about any new auto model part. Further, you will definitely have to shell out a little extra time with your current wording and phrasing, plus the description. You may use lots of time involving adjectives for you to adequately illustrate what it seems like to sit inside car, hear the electric motor, and travel it all-around. People would definitely like to know beforehand. You will need to remember everyone is buying cars as they are an extension of their unique personality. You’ll want to describe the automobile as if you would your very own significant other along with their uniqueness. People would like to know about your “feel” in the car. When you discuss the many features, and the many key things, and you invest time and thought into your work… That’s how you write the informational content on brand-new car types. If anyone posts articles that happen to be done using this method online, you will definitely just know that they get a great deal of traffic, a great deal of interest, a great deal of high evaluations, and you may notice inward links… besides, isn’t that the true objective of an online content composer? Indeed, I’m hoping you will picture this, with no over-hyping straight into each motor vehicle article that you may decide to type up in the future.
